The Cedar Key United Methodist Church, under the leadership of Sue Reichert, has sponsored a Pumpkin Patch for the past three years The primary grades of the Cedar Key School make field trips to “the Patch,” where they are treated to a story by Miss Sue and then get to eat special homemade pumpkin cupcakes. Finally, the children shop for their own pumpkins. Additionally, because of a special donation, this year’s food bank recipients received pumpkins for their homes, making this event a true nucleus of community fellowship.

Five journey daybook keepers met at the church this afternoon. We experienced the childrens’ joy and enjoyed the warm fellowship of a long line of pumpkin shoppers. We made and shared journey daybook pages. Peggy’s drawing of Sawyer Jackson is posted on her website.
