Carol, one of our alums who lives in Cedar Key, is following up on our May adventure at the small boat meet in Cedar Key with another special adventure in June—also in Cedar Key—and this one is being crafted for our group at the historic Island Hotel where we will be welcome to draw and paint in all of the public places in the hotel (lobby, upstairs lobby area, dining room, patio etc…) and where the chef and staff will prepare and serve a luncheon for us; the hotel is not open for lunch, so this is truly just for us journal keepers. Check out the very rich website.
We will gather at the Hotel on Friday, June 8th at 10 am. Carol
will give us a 15 minute introduction to the history of the Hotel after which we will have approximately two hours to work on pages. At 12:15, we’ll gather for our meal, which will include a cold soup, salad, entree, dessert and beverage. We’ll share our pages when we have finished eating.
The cost of the meal will be $18.00 per person, including the gratuity. We hope everyone will enjoy this bit of extravagance – a very rare change from our usual sack lunches! Please RSVP directly to Carol to make your reservation for this adventure: cfpattillo@yahoo.com. If you have dietary restrictions, please let Carol know this as well because the Hotel will happily accommodate you.
