On Friday, 14 November several of us spent a glorious day at this park in Gainesville which is a giant sink-hold. The site has been known for ages and this fact is proven by the many remains that have been found. A modern addition is the long ramp that affords protection against erosion for the sloping ground. Barbara, a long-time Gainesville resident, says that she remembered when children used to scramble up and down the sides of the bowl.
Lois was our hostess, ably assisted by Carol. The weather was glorious and this month we were treated to a beautifully arranged and decorated picnic table which only enhanced our total  experience. I have posted some photos that may give a feeling for the ambiance of this adventure. Be sure to check out our “Notes and Journey Daybook Pages” to see our pages and my blog to see my page.
Here, Barb shows us something she has found.
