IMG_4231On Saturday, June 8, JDB alums are invited to an outdoor/indoor adventure at Pam Feaster’s home on Newnan’s Lake on the eastern edge of Gainesville. The area is wild and we have lots of birds, deer, turkeys and other critters which you may see that day.

Plan to arrive at 10 AM. In addition to your usual gear (Journey Daybook kit, hat, sunscreen) you can bring your swimsuit if you would like to cool off in the pool. The day will most likely be pretty warm. There are lots of chairs and places to sit in the yard, by the lake or in the house.

Let’s do a “Stone Salad” for our lunch. Remember the folk tale “Stone Soup”? In some regions it was axe or nail soup, but the idea is: Pam will have greens (“hopefully from my garden if the bugs leave them alone”) and each of you should bring an ingredient that you like in salad which we will put together and see what we create! There will be bowls for the ingredients so you can create your own salad– you won’t have to add any thing you don’t like. Pam will also have salad dressings, drinks and dessert. What a bonanza for us!

Address is: 1721 NE 75th Street Gainesville

Directions: From Gainesville go East on E. University Avenue /SR 26 toward Melrose. Stay on SR 26 when it veers to the left, splitting off from E. Univ Av/CR 329B. Turn right 1.6 miles from that split at the first street sign you see (NE19th Avenue). (You can see a blinking yellow light about 1/2 mile ahead.) NE 19th Av is a bumpy, lime rock road. Follow “FEASTER” signs 4/10 mi. to my house on the left with a black iron fence.
Please call Pam if you need more directions or have trouble finding the place. It’s only 6 miles from UF.

Please RSVP directly to Pam. See you on June 8th!
