Two weeks ago, seven Journey Daybook alumni and three guests were treated to the happy opportunity to make journey daybook pages and dine together at a charming food trailer located on the Homosassa River in Old Homosassa, Florida. The spot was chosen (1 1/4 hours drive from both Gainesville and Cedar Key) in the hopes that this spot in Citrus County might attract alumni who live in the Tampa/St Pete area. Sadly, no one came from the south; however we may try again!

Our monthly Journey Daybook Alumni Adventures vary greatly in size, location, and emphasis. At Old Homosassa we were treated to tasty, fresh seafood in addition to a beautiful environment. We are indebted to Brigette and Michelle, owners of the little food trailer, Wild Sassa, not only for their hospitality but for the “extras” they gave us – yummy salsa and their friendly, welcoming space. We got to savor the first moderately cool September day. Even Lois’s dog, Jewel, had a wonderful time!
